What’s your canoe storage situation, Oppo?

I just leave it down by the bay with hundreds of others.

I have a small door, hidden behind my trash bins, that opens a storage location under my porch. That opening has 3" of clearance on all sides of a standard Old Towne canoe. I wonder how that happened...

It’s just to the right of the VW that’s under that pile of snow next to the outback.

I don’t have one, but then again I’m only 25% native American. The other 75% is people who oppressed native Americans. So I can be a little hard on myself sometimes.

During the summer, it normally just stays outside about ten feet from the water (and upside down). In the winter it stays in the boathouse.

Well, since you are asking... It’s problematic! See, I have this folding boat thingy which needs some 20 minutes of IKEA style assembly. I’d like to get a solid plastic one to be able to hit the water without that hassle, but at ten foot plus I wouldn’t be able to get it down the narrow stairway into the basement, leaving me with said predicament that Mr Trudeau just adressed.

I have a garage, so I’m good.

Got rid of my canoe many years ago because I lacked storage. The struggle is real!

Flipped upside down hanging under our porch. It’s a kayak but… close enough

Great, our Clipper hangs from the garage roof.. unless it’s on the car or truck headed to the lake;

I require no storage for canoes because my wife gets free canoe rental right on the lake as a perk at her job.

I hope they don’t live in Vancouver, young people can’t afford such storage at all.

Meanwhile, in the Netherlands, the exceptionally young (1986) leader of one of major left wing parties (F 2-party systems!) has found his inspirational canoe on the other side of the big pond.
This makes me feel old btw. Even my girlfriend is older than he is, and he has a tiny but real chance of becoming prime minister this year. What have I done with my life?

There will be elections soon. In about 2 months. They’re polling as the #1 or #2 left wing party, depending on the poll and about 4 or 5th overall. #1 are the populist xenophobes of Wilders, which have 0 chance because nobody will work with them (works both ways), the current #2 (right wing liberals) or 3 (centrist conservatives) in the polls are the most likely to deliver the next PM, but you’ll never know what the elections will bring.
